It is a well known fact that AMUCT has gained a good name among the general public around us. This is due to the good leadership provided by the leaders of the association since its inception. The dynamic office bearers of the association are always ready to serve the community and do their best to meet the aspirations of teachers. The importance of AMUCT office bearers is felt even at the official level and therefore, they find a place  in the preparation of API (Academic Performance Indicator) and other government policies on Higher Education. AMUCT has also played a role in the recent release of long pending arrears of teachers from the Department of Collegiate Education and the achievement  list prolongs…

Among the  College Teachers’ Associations in Karnataka, AMUCT  is the only one which publishes its Bulletin from time to time  for two decades without a break. This publication has helped the teachers to get information on regular basis. They are informed  not only in  activities pertaining to association but are also updated in matters related to  service conditions and on  Higher Education Policy.

Keeping in tune with the time and need, AMUCT decided to go online and therefore it became the first Association among the College teachers in Karnataka to launch a website in November 2011. It became a major source of information for teachers and therefore well appreciated by the teaching community all over India.  However, the editorial board of AMUCT did not stop there, it found that the existing website is static and doesn’t establish interaction with its readers. So it was planning to replace it with a dynamic one.

The present website is based on CMS (Content Management System) programme, which is easy to upload and  has the provision for storing the old files which could be easily traced by one click of the button by its user. It also provides facility for the readers to give their opinion then and there itself. In this regard I thank Mr. Vincent Mascarenhas of Mangalore for helping us in redesigning the website to our needs.

I request our members to utilize this facility of the website to the fullest extent possible. It gives an opportunity to all of us to express our views and opinions in a public space. Therefore send every detail of the members, their achievements and success from time to time so that  it will be posted quickly and be made available to the larger audience. Write articles on various issues related to higher education and create a public opinion in favour of teachers as well as for the cause of education.

Let us make this venture a successful one. Long Live Teachers Movement.
