Mangalore,  April 22, 2013: AMUCT  has written a letter to District Election Officer on appointing Assistant Professors of Degree Colleges as the 2nd Polling Officers in the Karnataka State Assembly Elections of 2013. The letter of the President of AMUCT, Dr Norbert Lobo stated that in all the previous elections college teachers have been appointed as  PRO’s and other duties equal or above the rank of PRO. Hence there is a lot of uneasiness among these college teachers.

The President  of AMUCT mentioned  that these teachers have personally referred this matter to the concerned election officers but no action has been taken so far.

Therefore, AMUCT requested the DEO to intervene and consider these cases favourably and modify their  appointment order as PRO.
