Mangalore, January 4, 2013 : A delegation of teachers of AMUCT led by the President Dr Norbert Lobo met the Union HRD minister Dr M M PallamRaju at Circuit House Mangalore. A presentation was made by Dr A M Narahari, former President FUCTAK in terms of responses of teaching community towards the proposals on Higher Education in the 12th Five year Plan. The issues included administrative reforms in higher education, process of improving the quality, review of existing funding system and the release of pending UGC arrears for College teachers. The minister gave a patient hearing in the structured interactive meeting. AMUCT appreciates the gesture of HRD minister and thanks him for his promise to take necessary follow up action. Dr Denis Fernandes, editor AMUCT Bulletin, DrUmmappaPoojary , former President, office bearers and managing council members were present.
