Sri Govinda Bhat, Associate Professor of Hindi joined the department of Hindi, Pompei College, Aikala, on 15-7-1983. After serving 30 years he retired on July 31, 2012
Besides, Sri Bhat is an artist, Akashavani, Mangalore, resource person in poetry writing workshops, and interested in charitable work and social service. He conducted free medical Camps in rural areas. He is the mediator for Dhrithi Foundation Scholarship, facilitated 500 poor students to get scholarship from Dhriti Foundation.
He received Da Ra Bendre Award in 2010.
