AMUCT delegation led by PresidentDr Norbert Lobo along with Dr A.M Narahari, Fr Francis Almeida, and Mr Charles Pais met the district in charge minister Mr B. Ramanatha Rai at Bantwal and appeased him the anxiety of the teachers caused by the recent redeployment order. The minister promised to take up the matter with the Higher Education Minister.
The President also brought to his notice the non payment of salary for the last four months to BEd College teachers. The minister promised prompt action in this regard

AMUCT Opposes irrational Redeployment of Teachers
AMUCT delegation led by the former President, Dr A.M Narahari, met Mr J.R.Lobo,, Mangalore MLA and requested him to pressurise the Government to withhold the redeployment order of teaching staff of Aided Colleges of Mangalore Region.
Many lecturers from aided colleges in Mangalore region have been redeployed to many government colleges on the ground that they do not have required workload in their respective colleges. AMUCT felt that such an order is irrational and unscientific. It has come at a time when the semester work is in full swing.
If teachers are sent to teach in distant government colleges, the whole system gets affected. The Said redeployment Order has required teachers to teach 2/4 hours in a week in distant government colleges. The aided colleges are already suffering due to unsympathetic attitude of the Government and the said redeployment is a serious blow for the effective functioning. AMUCT would like to remind the government that the aided colleges have rendered excellent services to the society by sharing the State responsibility.
The whole issue of workload needs a serious review. Therefore AMUCT urged the MLA to take up the matter immediately with concerned authorities for withholding the referred Order.
